My non perfect (but so fun!) Brusho Technique Waterfront

My non perfect (but so fun!) Brusho Technique Waterfront

My non perfect (but so fun!) Brusho Technique Waterfront is a leap of faith on my part!  When I shot the video I had just had a class with mixed experiences!  It reminded me of how some folks LOVE to color and others don’t!  Whether it stems from patience or process each technique offers something for everyone!  This happens to be an actual scene, however Brusho is amazing as just a background and is much more forgiving that way! So for the folks who wanted more control that may have been better to start with.

Watch for my upcoming tutorial on just doing a background, it’s so easy!  In the meantime here is my good, bad, and not really ugly…lol…  I love the impressionistic look and am not so OCD that I can’t appreciate the messy look… she says smiling!  However, that being said, I love to color!  In truth I enjoy every step of the process and don’t mind going slow.  There is a definite learning curve (I’m still on the lower rung!)  But I LOVE the possibilities!  So just play!

And, as always, remember to make your envelope pretty!  This makes such a huge impact for such a little effort!

My Simple Tip For Keeping A clean Stampin’ Scrub

My Simple Tip For Keeping A clean Stampin' Scrub

My Simple Tip For Keeping A clean Stampin’ Scrub!  Well, who says you cant teach an old dog (or cat) new tricks?  I recently had a big cardmaking stamp event at my home, and I have always kept a stampin’ scrub at each station.  And we all know they do get full of ink!  Even if you try not to, I’ve stamped off before cleaning, used wipes (alcohol free of course!), etc…

After the event I cleaned them all in the bath tub, thinking the whole time there has got to be a better solution!  I normally rinse them all under warm water until they run clear.  Then I add a bit of Dawn mild soap using my hands to clean, rinse again until they run clear.  After that I stand them all up on their sides for a few hours, then I come back and run warm water again until they run clear.  Let stand again for a few hours and then repeat.  At this point I’m usually good to go!

Here’s where I was thinking there had to be a better way!  The pads get inky waaaaaaayyyyyy too fast!  And my solution?

Petal Palette and DSP Blender Pen Technique

Petal Palette and DSP Blender Pen Technique

I love the simplicity of this Petal Palette and DSP Blender Pen Technique!  The whole pack of Petal Passion DSP is made up of  striking Black and white patterns!  So, this makes it an easy set to coordinate with any color scheme!

Creating this card is so simple!  Just start with an A2 card base of Soft Sky cardstock.  Cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″, score and fold in half at 4.25″.  Next is the Whisper White layer ct at 5.25″ x 4″.  The smaller Soft Sky layer is cut at 4.25″ x 3.25″, and finally the DSP is cut at 4″ x 3″.  See the video below for how to color from the ink pad lids using blender pens!  I love this simple coloring technique!

Cake Soiree Tag Card

Cake Soiree Tag Card

Hello!  Today’s Cake Soiree Tag Card post is part of the February 2018 Stamp N’ Hop Blog Hop!  My name is Shannon Cole and I’m happily creating in Washington State, (US!)  This month’s blog hop is anything from the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, which are available until May 31st!  Yay!!

Be sure to visit all the other blogs linked below to see everyone’s amazing creations!

There’s a funny story behind this card.  When we have our multi demonstrator stamp events we make name tags and favors for the guests.  So this was a combination of the two!  I thought it made a sweet card!

To create this card simply start with an A2 card base cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″.  Score and fold in half at 4.25″.  The Berry Burst layer is cut at 5.25″ x 4″.  Cut the next white layer at 4.25″ x 3.25″, and the next Berry Burst is cut at 3.75″ x 2.75″.  Finally, the inside white layer is cut at 3.5″ x 2.5″.  Add the DSP along the bottom, this is cut at 3.5″ x .5″ and add a small layer of Silver foil paper behind this!  All the rest is simply die cuts, WooHoo!  See my full supply list below!

Picture Perfect Birthday Shaker Card

Picture Perfect Birthday Shaker Card

Oh my goodness what a color challenge card!  Here’s my Picture Perfect Birthday Shaker Card featuring Pacific Point, Real Red, and Wisteria Wonder!  Not colors that easily go together, but the point of a color challenge is to stretch outside our comfort zone in cardmaking and crafting!

I happen to love shaker cards, and for this one I simply created my own confetti by snipping 1/8″ width pieces of cardstock.  It worked perfectly, and for a bit of sparkle I added a little dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter!

Start with an A2 size cardbase cut at 11″ x 4.25″, score and fold in half at 5.5″.  The next Wisteria Wonder layer is cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.  The two white top layers are cut at 5.25″ x 4″ ( the shaker is sandwiched between).  I did fussy cut the and pop up the words and other stamps.  Remember to make your envelope pretty!
