Stampin’Up! Christmas sparkle holiday card

Stampin’Up! Christmas sparkle holiday card

Stampin'Up! Christmas sparkle holiday card

The classic elegance of silver and grays speaks to me…It is a balancing act between vintage and modern when it comes to my taste in cards.  And I think that is evident in so many of my creations.  However I still have to keep in mind my tastes are not the final importance!  So I strive for a balance of tastes!  I do like the Stampin’Up! Christmas sparkle holiday card with it’s clean lines and balanced aesthetics and vintage edgy feel.   Also quick and easy which has been our focus lately.

The spatter was created using the Wink of Stella clear, I tapped the brush against the side of my hand onto the Very Vanilla background.  Also a trick with the double knot is to tie a loose knot using the base color ribbon, and the accent ribbon is slipped through the loose knot on the top before tightening the knot…easy!!!

Stampin’Up! Music notes Christmas card

Stampin’Up! Music notes Christmas card

Stampin'Up! Music notes Christmas card

I loved the music note paper from my first inspiration until completion of the Stampin’Up! Music notes Christmas card.  The concept of this card was fun for me.  The music notes are all created by hand, just 1/8″ strips of paper cut with the Stampin’ Trimmer.  Make the oval parts by hand, any framelit or punch, just cut the end off where it attaches to the strip.  Make the tiny curve ( the same you would use as a mouth…lol…) punch or cut an oval and then move the punch or die a bit and cut again.  Voila!

All the fancy die cut words in our thin dies collection are so under used, there is so much variety, and they make great focal points too!  I keep an organizer to remember what I have 🙂

This card is a standard landscape card base.  The next layer is Very Vanilla cut at 5.25″ x 4″, and the music note paper is cut at 3.75″ x 5″.  The gold glimmer paper is cut at 1/2″ x 4″ and flagged at the ends.

Stampin'Up! Tidings of Comfort & Joy Christmas card

This Stampin’Up! Tidings of Comfort & Joy Christmas card is another quick and easy creation!  With the release of the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog the one set of Christmas paper in the yearly occasions catalog is often overlooked.  The lightweight “This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper” is actually amazing and so worth ordering!  Unlike most paper stacks, this one contains 24 sheets, 4 each of 6 double sided designs!

The Garden Green base cardstock is a sheet of 8.5″ x 5.5″, score at 4.25″ and fold in half.  The next layer of Very Vanilla is 4″ x 5.25″, and the DSP layer is 3.75″ x 5″.  The small Garden Green layer is 2 5/8″ x 2 1/8″ and the Very Vanilla is on 2 3/8″ x 1 3/4″.

The Christmas Pines stamp set is so versatile!  I love the pines stamp for decorating the front of the envelope!

Stampin'Up! Candy Cane Lane Christmas card series pt 5

For our final card in the Stampin’Up! Candy Cane Lane Christmas card series pt 5 I stayed true to my Quick & easy commitment!  So many of the DSP papers were just fun all on their own, this one reminded me of snow!

I started with a base of Early Espresso, then cut a layer of Real Red at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, and finally the inside DSP layer at 4″ x 5.25″. The dazzling diamond glimmer paper is cut at 4″ x .5″ and flagged on the ends.  I actually cut the white doily so I could have the “right” side up on both pieces,  but many of my friends just folded it over.  Finish off with a bow and a rhinestone!

Stampin'Up! Candy Cane Lane Christmas card series pt 4

There have been many variations of this card floating around Pinterest, so I had to include one for our Stampin’Up! Candy Cane Lane Christmas card series pt 4 … Simply because the tiny houses on the Candy Cane Lane designer series paper are so terribly cute and just cries out to be a focal point!

This is a Quick & easy card, just like most of the others in this series (except for the spinner card which was #1) Anytime I have a single layer card in white I love to use our new Whisper White thick card stock.  It adds so much solidity to the card!  Stamp some snow flurries in the Crumb Cake ink and the sentiment in Real Red ink.

The cute houses are cut free hand from the DSP and the red twine is wrapped around the front and finished off with a bow.  Easy!

Stampin'Up! Candy Cane Lane Christmas card series pt 3

This Christmas card makes me think of snowy days and hot chocolate! The only part of this card that does not qualify as quick and easy is the hand cut mittens…so my vote is still a quick & easy card…lol…

Start with an A2 full card base cut at 5.5″ x 8.25″ and score at 4.25″ fold in half.   The inside whisper White layer is cut at 4″ x 5.25″.  Each of the Candy cane lane DSP strips are cut at .5″ x 3.5″, and the Silver Glimmer paper is .25″, lay them in place and cut off the extra from the end.

Hand cut the mittens from the DSP and pop them up with Stampin’ dimensionals.  Finish off with a candy cane lane twine bow and some rhinestones!
