We need to give more Congratulations handmade cards! Particularly Stampin’Up! cards! Many are understated, but some just scream “Congratulations!” This category celebrates an achievement or milestone. How fun is that? So, when someone works hard to reach a goal it’s great to recognize their accomplishment. Particularly in a tangible way! And the joy they express is it’s own reward. There are some great Stampin’Up! stamp sets created for this category, as well as fun embellishments. Some are actually entire focal points on their own, which makes creating the card very quick and easy! Think graduation, sports, and job promotions, just to name a few!
Here’s my Stampin’Up! A Little Wild card & video. I had so much fun with this cute little expecting baby card! Even my little furry companion had to make an appearance! I left the blooper in the video for laughs, since it happens to be a common occurrence!
Start with an A2 cardstock base in Bermuda Bay. Cut at 11″ x 4.25″. Score and fold in half at 5.5″. The whisper white cardstock layer is 5.25″ x 4″ and this layer is embossed with the layered leaves folder. I absolutely LOVE the 3D Dynamic impressions embossing folders!!
Use the Bloomin Heart thinlet die to create the heart background in smokey slate cardstock. And cut the flowers and tiny laurel pieces out of the bermuda bay cardstock. Attach with the Tombow liquid glue.
Stamp and die cut the baby elephant from the “A Little Wild” bundle. I cut the tag top off and stamped a sentiment on the inside, just tucking the edge under a flower to stay closed. Stamp the congratulations sentiment, add the ribbon, and remember to make your envelope pretty!
The perfect touch for this Crafting Forever Masculine Card is added by the copper heat embossing, copper foil paper, and Stampin write markers.
Simply start with a Night of Navy A2 card base, cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″. Score and fold in half at 4.25″. The second layer is Early Espresso cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, and the very vanilla layer is cut at 5.25″ x 4″.
Stamp the pen set ( which I love!) on the left and right sides of the base centered. Also stamp the envelope at this time! Clean the stamp free of ink.
Heat emboss the focal point with copper powder and colored with a night of navy stampin’ write marker. Finally, the vanilla focal is cut at 2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″, the copper is cut at 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″, and the final night of navy layer is 3″ x 3″.
This Dragonfly Dreams Gold Embossed card was from one of our weekly color challenges. It was quite a mix of colors and the gold just called out for heat embossing! The Dragonfly Dreams stamp set was a great way to get my colors in!
Simply start with a Very vanilla thick cardstock cut for an A2 card, finished size 5.5″ x 4.25″. The Old Olive layer is cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″. and the inside very vanilla layer is cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″. Emboss the top of the card using the Hexagon emboss folder. The inner Old Olive layer is 3.5″ square. And the inner heat embossed Vanilla layer is 3 3/8″ square.
See the video tutorial below for details on heat embossing, and remember to make your envelope pretty!
Stampin’Up! High Tide Lighthouse masking technique card
Yay! Here’s the Stampin’Up! High Tide Lighthouse masking technique card. I love sponging, and the sticky note masking technique adds a dramatic look easily!
This was created for the Creative Cat Crew color challenge. Once I laid out the colors I instantly thought of a sunset! I attached the video tutorial to show how I used the sticky notes with the sponging for the color layer effect.
Start with a Whisper White cardstock base cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″. Score and fold at 4.25″. Attach the Calypso Coral layer cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″. Cut the top sponged layer at 5.25″ x 4″.
Tear a large sticky note jaggedly across. This is your sponging template. As you move the sticky note down angle it a bit different each time. And be sure to stamp the lighthouse before sponging down too far! Remember to make your envelope pretty!
This post highlights the sponging technique for the Stampin’Up! Remarkable You Calla Lily Card. I really love the soft look of sponging!
Start with a Pool Party card base cut at 11″ x 4.25″. Score and fold at 5.5″. Cut the next layer of Calypso Coral at 5.25″ x 4″, and cut the next layer at 5″ x 3.75″. Stamp the flowers and the sentiment on the smallest Vanilla layer using the momento ink.
Add some ink to your sponge and swirl off most on a scratch paper so you wont get streaks of ink on your card… (I will add a video to show the sponging technique 🙂 Always start sponging lightly. If you want area of deeper color you can go back and add more, but you can’t take ink off!
The Stampin’Up! Double Take Hooray card makes a fun focal point for a quick and easy card! This could work for birthday or congratulations! I love versatile cards!
Start with a Cucumber Crush card base cut at 4.25″ x 11″. Score and fold at 5.5″. The Whisper White layer is 5.25″ 4″ and the A Little Foxy DSP is cut at 5.25″ 1.5″. Wrap the Smokey Slate ribbon around and adhere to base.
Stamp the Hooray sentiment in Smokey Slate then line up the Hooray thin fill sentiment and stamp in Cucumber Crush. Pop up and add your bow and twine.
Stamp the sentiment on a 3/8″ strip of Whisper White and layer onto a strip of Cucumber Crush. Use the handheld stapler to attach. Remember to make the envelope pretty!
To make this quick and easy Stampin’Up! Reverse Words Sale A Bration card I just combined the Gorgeous Grunge and the Friendly Wishes set and the 6 x 6 Glimmer paper assortment pack.
