I had fun with this Flying Home Brusho card 2018 Occasions catalog, a little bit of technique & a little bit of whimsy. I loved the Brusho watercolor crystals when I first saw them, however I had never used them. Since I love a spattered imperfect look, so I tried playing with the spritzer as well as the Stampin Up Aquapainter. They actually give a totally different look as I show in the video below!
You can start with an A2 size card base in Calypso Coral. Cut it at 4.25″ x 11″. Score and fold in half at 5.5″. I chose to assemble this card in a landscape orientation so it opens on the right! I stamped the birdhouses twice. Once on my base piece of white cardstock and again on a scrap paper. I colored the houses on the scrap paper and then fussy cut them out. And on the base I only colored the bottoms since I knew I wanted to pop up the houses!
I loved playing with the Brusho crystal colorand look forward to really perfecting my technique! In the mean time, just remember to have fun! I did find that only one small hole was enough. and I used a pushpin to keep in the lid. My favorite look so far has been sprinkling and then spritzing. However, the possibilities are many!! Remember to make your envelope pretty!

Stampin’ Up 2018 Occasions Petal Palette Thank You card
Here’s a Sneak Peek of Stampin’ Up 2018 Occasions Petal Palette Thank You card. I love so many things in this new catalog! It has been so hard to wait to share it with you! Just a bit longer and it goes live!!
Start with an A2 sized card base in Berry Burst cardstock cut at 11″ x 4.25″ Score and fold in half at 5.5″. The Whisper White layer is cut at 5.25″ x 4″, this is for the front and the inside. Stamp the leaves in Old Olive ink and the sentiment in Berry Burst. On a separate piece of white cardstock stamp the focal flowers in Momento ink. Cut out the image using the Petal Palette thin dies. Then color the image with the Stampin’ Blends markers.
Lay a piece of Tear & Tape down at a diagonal across the front and adhere the berry burst ribbon, bunching as you go. Finally pop up the focal point using dimensionals, attach the Tutti Frutti Adhesive Sequins and Pearls. Remember to make your envelope pretty!
This Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here sponged card from our weekly color inspiration challenge, was a bit of a challenge! Pun intended! Lol… my friend mentioned that the colors inspired by a sunset scene were difficult, and unless you create a sunset scene, she was right. Our goal is to have the submitted card obviously derived from the inspiration! As it turns out this was not easy when you are looking at yellow, oranges, purple, and a black silhouette!
I am so excited to see what everyone creates! I laughingly told her that’s why it’s a challenge! For this card just start with an A2 black card base at 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored and folded in half at 4.25″. The Wisteria Wonder layer is cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ and the next black layer is 5″ x 3 3/4″. The top white sponged layer is cut at 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″. Next, stamp the bench, the flower pot, and the sentiment.
I stamped the pillows in Momento ink, colored them with blender pens, and cut them out with paper snips. I attached the pillows to a basic black card stock and fussy cut around the edges to create a border. Pop them up with mini dimensionals and remember to make your envelope pretty!
This Stampin’ Up! Crafting Forever Thank You card was super Quick & Easy! I send a ton of thank you cards every month and quick, easy, looks pretty fits my needs perfectly…lol… I love the crafting forever stamp set for it’s versatility and it’s obvious crafty appeal.
To make this card simply start with an A2 card base in Night of Navy. Cut landscape style, 11″ x 4.25″. Score and fold the card in half at 5.5″. Layer a Very Vanilla card stock cut at 5.25″ x 4″ stamped with the pens in Night of Navy ink. Remember! Stamp the Very Vanilla envelope with the pens too! The Thank You sentiment is from the One Big Meaning stamp set. Finish off the card with the Night of Navy crinkled seam binding ribbon wrapped around the front and finished off with a bow!
This is one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Alternative ideas! I love how many cards I was able to make with the Pillow boxes that originally came in the kit!
I do have to say, better late than never for this Paper Pumpkin kit, which is from September! Simply got crazy busy! I do love the pillow boxes that came in the kit, but I give a TON of Thank You cards out by hand and by mail!! So I did some adjusting!
I trimmed the top and bottom off all the pillow boxes, plus I trimmed 1/8″ off each side. this gave me 16 beautifully embossed layers which I added to a Soft Suede cardstock base. Of course also made up all the notecards. The only other item I added was a few pieces from the Eastern Gold vinyl sticker sheets to the round tags.
September Paper Pumpkin as it was meant to be
