Stampin’Up! Custom Inked ribbon and background

Stampin’Up! Stampin’Up!  Custom Inked ribbon and background

Stampin'Up! Custom Inked ribbon and background

This Stampin’Up!  Custom Inked ribbon and background was essentially created by accident.  My friend reminded me of the technique of dying ribbon to match cardstock, and so at a retreat she showed me an easy way to do it.  This also included using the leftover ink to color your cardstock, creating your own custom background…lol…

We simply tapped a pad of tempting turquoise on a silicone sheet and used a few spritzes of water to preferred color intensity.  You can go for a more mottled look or solid color depending on preference.  After we colored the white ribbon and dried it with a heat gun I blotted & ran a piece of white card stock through the leftover ink creating a custom background… Yay!!

Stampin' Up! Spooky Night & Cat Halloween Card

I wanted to share this super fun Stampin’ Up! Spooky Night & Cat Halloween Card I made!  This was a color challenge which fit perfectly for the fall season!

I have been having fun with all our color challenges and we would love to have you all submit cards each week.  For now just send the challenge # and your photo with name to admin@creatingforgrace.com

For this card simply start with an A2 card base in Early Espresso cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″.  Score and fold in half at 4.25″.  Add a layer of DSP cut at 5.25″ x 4″.  The Espresso strip is 5″ x 2.5″.  And the So Saffron square is 3.25″ x 3.25″.  Cut the tree DSP and stamp the owl in Early Espresso.  Fussy cut the pumpkins and add the stems in Pear Pizzazz.  Finally add the sentiment.

Stampin’Up! Graveyard Gate Bundle Halloween card

Stampin’Up! Graveyard Gate Bundle Halloween card

Stampin'Up! Graveyard Gate Bundle Halloween card

This Stampin’Up! Graveyard Gate Bundle Halloween card was one of our color challenges.  I loved how it turned out so different from the the traditional blacks, purples, oranges, etc…

The color palette I had to work with was Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla.  But… I really wanted to use that beautiful new detailed gate thinlet die from the 2017 Holiday catalog!  I made it work… lol …

Start with an A2 card base of early espresso cut at 11″ x 4.25″.  Score and fold at 5.5″.  The top sponged layer is sahara sand cardstock cut at 5.25″ x 4″.  I used the Big Shot die cutter to to cut out the detailed gate in early espresso cardstock.

Next, use a 1″ circle punch on the sticky part of a post it note to create a resist spot for sponging the sky.  I sponged lightly in crumb cake and then added a few streaks of early espresso lightly to the sky.  When you lift away the post it note circle you leave a clean spot ( voila moon!)

I very carefully cut out the center of the gate.  Then I attached each side to the base and used foam adhesive strips to pop up the center.  Add the lock, key, and sentiment and that’s it!  Remember to make your envelope pretty!

Stampin’ Up! Spooky Cat Witch Hat Halloween card

Stampin' Up! Spooky Cat Witch Hat Halloween card

Here’s my Stampin’ Up! Spooky Cat Witch Hat Halloween card.  This was a fun color challenge that stretched my creativity. Crushed curry, Perfect Plum, and Cherry cobbler, lol… Hmmmm… Ended up loving the Halloween card I came up with!

It unfortunately doesn’t show up very well, but the Wink of Stella adds just the right touch of shimmer to the potion bottles.  And I also used a black stampin write marker to deepen the color of the witches hat since it was directly against the black cardstock.

For this card start with an A2 card base in black cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″.  Score and fold at 4.25″.  The Crushed Curry layer is 5.25″ x 4″, the Black layer is cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″, and the white top stamped layer is cut at 5″ x 3.75″

Scatter the potion bottles across the white layer (remember to leave room for your bubbles!) I did fussy cut the hat, but it’s very easy!  Remember to make your envelope pretty!

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest card

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest card

Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest card

Have to love the simplicity of this Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest card, stamping only anyone?  This card has been so popular on my YouTube channel, and I suspect it’s because of the ease of the design.

I created this card for one of our weekly color challenges and even though I had seen many cards made with the traditional sunflower colors I hadn’t seen any brightness.  Not to say it wasn’t out there… lol … I just knew I wanted color!

I started with an A2 base in Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″.  Score and fold at 4.25″.  The stamped  Very Vanilla layer is cut at 5.25″ x 4″.  After that all that’s left is stamping.  I will say I did quite a bit of “stamping off” before stamping on the final layer.  That way I could create depth of color with the same inks.  Remember to make your envelopes pretty!
